Mixed Loads: Nashi generate ethylene and so should not be shipped with ethylene-sensitive commodities such as kiwifruit, persimmon, carrots, celery, cabbage, lettuce, and some flowers and nursery plants. Nashi pears may absorb odors from onions, garlic and potatoes.
Cautions: Proper handling conditions for Nashi vary by variety and growing region. In general, Nashi may benefit from low О2 (1-3%) but they tend to be sensitive to СО2 (greater than 2-3%), except for the variety Ya Li which may tolerate up to 5% СО2.
