Special Treatments Before Shipping: Heat treatments, either vapor heat or hot water treatment, may be used to reduce anthracnose or for quarantine insect control. Waxing may be used to prevent moisture loss and to modify internal O2and CO2concentrations.
Mixed Loads: Do not ship with ethylene producing or ethylene sensitive commodities.
Cautions: O2less than 2% can cause off-flavors and failure to ripen. CO2greater than 10% can cause off-flavors and may aggravate chilling injury.
