Benefits of CA: Low O2can reduce respiration and ethylene production rates as well as retard ripening. Elevated CO2delays ripening.
Benefits of Ethylene Removal: Ethylene removal may, in some cases, retard ripening and reduce respiration.
Mixed Loads: Sweetsop are sensitive to ethylene. Do not ship with other ethylene producing commodities. Avoid chilling temperatures (less than 12°C).
Cautions: O2less than 1% can result in failure to ripen. High CO2(greater than 15%) can confer a flat taste and cause uneven ripening.
