Mixed Loads: Apples generate ethylene and so should not be shipped with ethylene-sensitive commodities such as kiwifruit, persimmon, carrots,celery, cabbage, lettuce, and some flowers and nursery plants. Apples may absord aromas from onions, garlic, and potatoes.
Cautions: Boskoop apples are very sensitive to high CO2(greater thanabout 2%). High CO2can result in core browning. They are also chilling sensitive and so should not be stored at less than 3°C. Boskoop apples are susceptible to skin browning, core browning, low temperature breakdown, senescent breakdown, bitter pit and core flush.
